What is TFP Test Shoot and commission on Publication?
Time for prints (TFP) or Time for CD (TFCD) is a working relationship between photographers and models / makeup artists / hair stylists with the aim of producing quality work without a large financial outlay. Nobody gets paid for their time, rather in exchange for each persons time, everybody gets a copy of the prints or CD of images.
The next stage is Commission on Publication where the model gets a copy of the images just like TFP however the model also gets paid when the images get published. This will vary from $100 to $5000 depending upon the number of images published, the type images published and who publishes them.
The final stage is to get paid per shoot. The model gets paid for each shoot they do no matter if the images get published or not. All models even the famous ones, do a combination of the above three types of shoots.
What is a TFP Shoot Style ?
In the fashion / photographic industry there are some modelling terms commonly used to describe to a model the amount and type of clothing proposed for the shoot. Definitions vary from photographer to photographer so ours are list below for your reference :

What is a TFP Shoot Genre ?
A shoot in any particular style can have a very different look depending upon the clothes, lighting, makeup, poses and locations used. This is called the genre, and is best described with an example. A swimwear shoot for a Myer catalogue would be totally different than one for Ralph. The difference we define as the genre.

What images are taken at the photo shoot ?
We base each shoot on the information you provide in your TFP request. In most cases, a series of headshots or fashion shots are done first, followed by the themes and styles you are comfortable with. Most of the TFP photo shoots we do are for mainstream fashion model portfolios.
How do you choose your TFP models ?
We get several TFP requests per week and look forward to receiving yours.
We choose our TFP models for specific themes based on body proportions, complexion, experience and the styles they are comfortable with. Naturally, models willing to participate in our a greater range of themes are given preference. Please do not be disappointed if your request is not assigned to the shooting list of a current theme. Be persistent.
It is important to provide us with some natural pictures of yourself by directing us to a website, such as myspace. We prefer non-professional shots, natural ones are best because it shows us the real you.
How many images are provided from a TFP shoot?
At Kiwistrippers we try our best to provide you with a variety of images form each shoot. On average, we select between 8 and 26 images from the several hundred taken over a 3 hour shoot. All TFP images will have our logo in the bottom corner.
What is a TFP Model Release ?
A model release is a written legal agreement between a model and a photographer that outlines when and where the images from a shoot can be used. All images will be considered for possible submission to and publication in some of Australia’s leading national magazines. Muse photography retains copyright of all images but licences the model to use the images for personal promotion only; such as model portfolios, personal websites and agency submission.
The Model Release also outlines any other agreements (called considerations) and the style of shoot to be undertaken.
We requires a signed model release and proof of age prior to all photo shoots.
