Many of Rotorua’s actions are within walking distance from the Rotorua CBD, just walk on down to the lake. They have plenty of pubs, restaurants and clubs on the way. If you want to get out to the Gondola, take an uber, taxi or the local bus that leaves every hour on week days.
The only negative about Rotorua can be the smell, due to the Geothermal activity, the sulphur does get around. Over time you’ll get used to it, but the positives out way the negatives, hot pools, massages, springs and geothermal water is all around the region.
